Brickyard Bar and Grill
John & Shelly Sterk purchased the property in Oberlin, Ohio in 2015 to house the existing catering business and to expand with a restaurant and tavern/bar. Sterk's Catering, Inc., our off-premises catering business, relocated from Vermilion to our new location in the beginning of 2015. The restaurant/tavern opened in the spring of 2015 where we featured a menu of fresh, locally sourced foods. Our bar features a variety of some of Ohio's best craft beers on tap, imported and domestic bottled beers, local wines and fine spirits.
In 2017, in efforts to re-brand our restaurant, we changed the name from Sterk's of Oberlin to Brickyard Bar & Grill. As part of this re-branding, we remodeled and added a new bar/dining space. The new bar consists of a horseshoe bar with 21 seats which over doubled our bar space! There is an additional 44 seats with high tops and standard tables. Our bar would not be complete without an outdoor patio area! The patio opened in the spring of 2019. Our main dining room was converted to a causal dining room and is open on Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm-9pm. We will continue to accept large reservations (up to 20 guests).

Meet our Staff

John Sterk, President, has been employed in the family business for over 30 years. He has been the owner since 2009 and continues as the head chef of the catering business and oversees all aspects of the restaurant and bar.

Shelly Sterk, General Manager, has been employed in the family business for over 25 years. Shelly has a degree in Business Administration and Accounting.

Shaun Sterk, Bar Manager, has been employed in the family business for over 7 years. Shaun has worked as a Cook and Caterer and has moved up to management. In 2015, Shaun attended the PBSA Cleveland Bartending School and is a Certified Bartender and Mixologist.

Aaron Sterk, Assistant Catering Manager, has been employed in the family business for over 4 years. Aaron took a break from the family business to serve his country as a United States Marine. While in the military, Aaron graduated as a Food Service Specialist from the Army QuaterMaster School/Marine Corp Detachment in Ft. Lee, VA. Aaron returned to the family business in September of 2014. In January 2018, Aaron will be continuing his education while continuing to work part-time in the family business.
